Making the Difference Fund
Success!

Friends of Markfield Park have been successful in a bid to the Haringey Council 'Making the Difference' Fund to extend the sports facilities in the Park.

A BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have sent in messages of support. It is together that we can achieve the best for our community and the best for our park.

We hope that shortly we will have basketball hoops in the MUGA (Multi-User Games Area) and outdoor table tennis table by the Café. However, given these difficult economic times and the large number of bids to the fund, we have been awarded a reduced sum. Our aim is to stretch these precious funds to meet all requirements.

We think these additional sports facilities would benefit the park enormously. Though we then next need to get to work on the football pitches and bowling green to make them usable, as well as the community garden.

Now the work begins! Our deadline to deliver the project is Spring 2012.
